Dear, Good Yuletide Author,
Hi! How are you? Thank you so much for signing up to write a story for me. I’m really looking forward to reading it. Here are my requested fandoms and some suggestions relating to them.
General DNWs: non-con, underage (even with aged-up characters), humiliation.
Wayward Children
I just read these books over the summer and I’m totally over the moon for the characters. Jack and Jill are my favorites and it would be awesome to get a story focused on their adventures in the Moors, before or after their stay at Eleanor West’s Home. I also enjoy the odd professional/parental relationship between Eleanor and Lundy, so that might also be an interesting thing to explore.
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
Another series I started earlier this year. I’d be intrigued to see what happens after the Marquess wakes up and exactly how that happens—by way of a handsome prince(ss) or by other means? And September is my favorite YA fantasy protagonist in a long, long time, so I’d love to see things continue to unfold from her perspective.
Beyond Belief (TAH)
Oh, the Doyles! They’re just the best, aren’t they? And I’m happy to see the Hendersons included in the tag set as well. It occurs to me that we’ve actually seldom heard Donna and Dave together (or Dave at all, for that matter), so it would be awesome to get a bit of shared domestic horror comedy at Frank and Sadie’s penthouse, with or without baby Michelle.
Chrestomanci
I just reread the first two Chrestomanci books for old times’ sake and also wrote a story for the Trick or Treat challenge about Mordecai’s adventures, so I’ve definitely had him and Christopher on my mind. Mordecai is presumably still around somewhere during the events of Charmed Life and I’d love to know what he’s been up to and what his place in the world is like with Christopher as Chrestomanci. What does Cat think of him? Does he go adventuring with Flavian? Do tell.
Spider-Gwen
I really like Seanan McGuire and Rosi Kampe’s new take on the Gwen of Earth-65, but I loved the absurdist emo version of that world that Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez gave us. Her unpredictable relationship with the symbiote is one of my favorite surprises of the whole run, so it would be neat to watch them continue to work out the terms of their coexistence. Also, moar Mary Janes songs and shows plz?
Wayfarers
Truly, no science fiction series this decade has brought me more joy. Becky Chambers is my hero and I love every character in every book so far. I do have a particular soft spot for the crew of the Wayfarer, though, and I’m always up for post-canon stories about them. Please don’t feel especially constrained by the limited character tags—if you pick this fandom, I’m 100% okay with you choosing any and all characters from throughout this wonderful universe.
And that’s it! A very happy Yuletide to you, and thanks again.
All the best,
Mitchell (Satchelfoot)
